
Head Chef Vegetarian & Vegan Restaurant
This very well established multi award-winning 100-cover restaurant at the vanguard of the meat-free movement for the past 30 years has an immediate vacancy for a talented and highly motivated Head Chef who is capable of taking on all aspects of running this very busy kitchen.
The restaurant has a reputation for serving a very high-quality unique product, offering a great experience in vegetarian and vegan cuisine, as well as expert training in dietary restrictive cooking. The restaurant also offers a range of retail products and operates a successful outside catering business too. Menus are fresh, seasonal and innovative, standards throughout are high.
As Head Chef you will leading a team of 9, responsible and accountable for all aspects of the day to day running of your kitchen including:
- All food production, stock management & wastage
- Menu development
- Staff training & retention
- Compliance with all statutory regulations and legislation.
- Food safety & hygiene
- The kitchen budget and GP.
The Candidate
Our ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic professional chef, up to date with current industry trends and modern cooking techniques with the skill base to work on all sections of the kitchen. You will have several years’ experience in a similar role cooking to 2AA Rosette standard minimum with a strong work ethic and excellent attention to detail. You will have a proven track-record in kitchen management including a thorough understanding of kitchen budgets and GP’s with the patience and energy to deliver the best possible training. This includes regular documented appraisals and ongoing mentoring helping your brigade constantly achieve their best.

We are looking for a resilient, clear thinking, creative and solutions driven chef, skilled in recipe writing and new dish development bringing new ideas to the table whilst also improving existing practices.
Our new head chef will work closely with the owners, as part of the senior management team, on every aspect of pushing the business forward, with involvement in future books, restaurant progression and brand identity. This will include representing the business at food events and for the press and TV. You will share the owner’s commitment to ethical and sustainable choices, responsible food provenance, recycling, food waste management and a desire to give back, which are key to all company decision making.
5-day week
Salary: £50,000 + Tronc + performance related bonus
